First game of 2009/10 season with a new look Div 1 PSG side.
PSG started strong on offence with some fast breaks and timed offences. Defence was not great and allowed Oatlands to score without much opposition. Fouls were a major issue for PSG throughout the match and reaching in lead to early fould trouble in most of the game. Tied 15 all at the end.
2nd quarter started and was a bit scrappy with offence still a bit scrappy, but defence picked up towards the end of the quarter forcing a couple of stealsand finishing strong to take a 6 point half time lead.
All the hard work was undone in the 3rd where Oatlands got back into the game, through their guards causing problems for our defence and foul trouble being an issue once again. PSG held onto a slim 1 point lead going into the 4th.
PSG have not historically done well in close tight games, however we came out ready and eager to make the first game a W. Playing very good defence and holding Oatlands to 6 points and converting contolled patient offences with good shots saw PSG finish the game out.
A good opening performance, and all the guys dug deep to earn a well played victory with everyone contributing in some way to the W. Thanks to Oatlands for a very closely contested game.
