After Saturdays defeat in the Scottish Cup PSG were looking to improve their performance and get a W against a good Glasgow Uni side.
The first quarter was a good for both sides but it was PSG who started out the better with the press working and some good patient well worked offences and getting good shots. Some slack defence allowed Glasgow to keep in the game and take the lead with some good outside shooting. 18-24 to Uni after the first quarter.
The second quarter PSG fell apart, with no movement or teamwork on offence and the defence was lacking any hustle or effort. Uni continued to move the ball well and find the open man. Half time 25-40 to Glasgow Uni.
With it all to do PSG had to step up on defence and that is what they done in the 2nd half. Offence got better and worked the fast break and set offences well. However anytime PSG chipped into the lead, they would fall asleep on defence and allow the open shot from the perimeter and gave up 5 3 pointers in the 3rd Q. 46-59 after the 3rd.
The 4th was more of the same and PSG got within 3, with a chance to tie after a tech foul on Uni gave us 2 free throws and possession. Both were missed and ball turned over on the resulting possesion. Uni managed to take advantage of PSG's urgency and mistakes and managed to pull away again.
Some very good shooting by Uni, due to poor perimeter defence by PSG, giving up open shots and failing to recognise the outside threat. A total of 10 3's hit by Uni.
PSG are out of the Cup but will be looking for revenge in the league games between the 2 sides, which should promise to be good games.
