Match report by Danny Gibbons. Taken from Scotball
For the 2nd night in a row Ayrshire hosted a div2 one point thriller, but this time the visitors took the spoils
PSG tok an early 6pt lead, but we pulled it back and led by 4 at the end of the period. It was to become 6 at half time in a high intensity game, with lots of effort, desire and passion shown in both teams. it then ebbed and flowed but PSG got the upper hand and were 2 ap at end of Q3.
It stayed tight in Q4. 1pt in it through the last 2min. Ayr went 1 up with under 15 on the clock. Visitors with a big John power shuffle move on the base went 1 up with 1.5sec on the clock and then the inballer stepped on court before passing.
Time out and an NBA style miracle needed for the last 1.5sec as PSG had the inball at the Ayr end. Their hero went to villain as a unsportsman was called as players jossled for position. First shot from line missed, 2nd shot from line missed.
So down to a final play from the half - Charlie got a touch and put ball out. 1 sec left on clock. This time we got ball to target ok and shot away but it hit ring and out then the buzzer sounded. we were gutted, we should have protected the final PSG play better and then after getting our get out of jail card, we never made the most of it.
Great intensity from all players in both teams. Made it a game you kept interest in and every one was emotionaly involved.
