This was PSG's 5th league game and looking for the 5th win of the league season.
Both teams started very slowly with some sloppy passes on offence and poor defence. Not many baskets were scored due to the poor offence by both teams. End of Q score 10 - 7.
With Storm having the slight lead and momentum going into the 2nd Q, PSG picked up their defence and started to run the fastbreak well getting some good scores. But failing to capitalise on some of Storms turnovers, by turning the ball back over again meant PSG didnt extend much of a lead as they should have done. PSG went into the half with a 5 point lead 23 - 18.
The game was there for any team for the taking. PSG came out the stronger by falling back into their defence and frustrating Storm, pushing the ball up the floor very well and getting good open looks through passing and movement. Their lead was up to around 20 points at one point in the 3rd. Holding Storm to 6 points in the quarter PSG were in the lead 24-42.
PSG did get somewhat complacent on defence, perhaps due to the lead. The bench was ran in the 4th to allow players more time however with PSG falling back into old habits on the defensive end, Storm chipped away at the lead. Storm drove well to the basket and got PSG in foul trouble early and with 4 minutes to go, they were looking to pull back the lead. PSG got some good breaks again to keep the double figure lead, but again let Storm get to the basket too easily, and looked a bit nervous towards the end. But after a recoup and a time out PSG saw the game out.
Another win for PSG and well ground out win. Still have not played to our full potential for a whole game, but good win and performance with everyone contributing on both ends of the floor.
Final Score 57 - 47 and now 5-0 in the league. Big test coming with a tough game away against Glasgow Rocks.
