Kilmarnock v PSG DIV 2 07/12/09

E-mail Print PDF

Last night we traveled down to meet the always well drilled and organised Kilmarnock squad.

During our warm-up we looked down to their end and saw they had only 7 players stripped, we had 11, so we decided to try to use that advantage. We started the 1st very well, with almost every shot going in. This continued for the whole quarter forcing the opposition to change their deffense to try to stop us. Quarter ended PSG 23 Killie 16

Second quarter and we continued in the same way, making the majority of the shots we took. Our defence started to relax and Killie started to make their own shots. Half time PSG 45 Killie 33

Second half started and we had totally relaxed deciding that we had won the game, a few words during a time out and a couple of changes to the defense and we managed to steady ourselves. Killie meanwhile had started to get in the groove and they won this quarter. End of the 3rd PSG 62 Killie 51.

4th Quarter and all our momentum had gone, poor offense and Killie continuing their run and we let all the way back into the game. Final few minutes and the game was tied, Killie went ahead and we had to rely on free throws to tie the game. In fact wee John had a chance at the end to take the game by one point if he had made his final free throw. End of the quarter PSG 70 Killie 70

Overtime
Killie's lack of numbers really started to show as they got into foul trouble and we went back to the form of the 1st Half, no major plays I can remember. Final score PSG 85 Killie 74

We were very luck to hold on to the victory from this one, Killie could easily have stolen it right at the death.
