First game back after the Christmas break and Gators looked to keep their league success continuing in the new year.
PSG started out the game as if the festive break hadn't affected them at all. Defended very well and worked the fast break going 10-2 up. However this wasnt to last and Glasgow passed the ball well and managed to get back into the game and even things up a bit.
The second quarter was a bit scrappy and PSG struggled to find a steady offensive rhythm. Poor defensive rebounding allowed Glasgow to get many second and third shot attempts.Poor shot selection and positioning for Gators didnt help matters. Once the ball managed to rarely work its way inside to the big men, some baskets were made. End of half scores were tied.
The 3rd quarter was much like the second. Neither team could break away and there was only a few points difference. Glasgow worked the ball around well, exploiting PSG's zone to take a small but important lead going into the 4th.
PSG started out with more defensive intensity and switched to a man to try and put more pressure on Glasgow. This worked well and offence managed to get back on track too. Fast breaks and some well worked set offences saw PSG take a 7 point lead at one point with 4 minutes left on the clock. However Glasgow had other ideas and off the back of some poor shots, and some offensive fous by PSG, they managed to claw it back to a point in the last minute. Pressure was on PSG to keep the lead and with the ball in their possesion they managed to score pushing the lead to 3 points.
With 20 seconds left Glasgow looked to tie but PSG's defence went all out to stop any 3 point attempts. The ball found its way to Sincy and he got fouled with 12 seconds on the clock, offering Glasgow a lifeline. However both free throws were missed and PSG managed to see out the rest of the clock to take the win.
Another tough fought win for PSG, and a hard defeat for Glasgow who travel to Storm on Friday in the Anderson Cup.
